l Fully support from the state ministries and commissions
China Hi-tech Fair (CHTF) is jointly held by the nine ministries and commissions of the state and Shenzhen Municipal Government. Since its inception in 1999, the Chinese government has been giving strong support to CHTF. Many Party and state leaders such as Wu Bangguo and Zhu Rongji visited the CHTF venue for inspection; on the 10th anniversary of the CHTF in 2008, the then Premier Wen Jiabao wrote inscription for CHTF. The expectations of the Party and the state, and the support of the sponsoring ministries and commissions guarantee the success of CHTF. In the 16th CHTF in 2014, the then Vice Premier Liu Yandong visited CHTF and inspected the Smart City Exhibition first. In the 19th CHTF in 2017, leaders including Wan Gang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC and Minister of Science and Technology; Liang Zhenying, vice chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC; and Wang Weizhong, secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, led a delegation to visit the Smart City Exhibition.
According to the records, the representatives of delegations of 38 provinces and cities (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) in China and 49 foreign delegations visited the exhibition site and discussed the experience in smart city construction with enterprises. The expo sets up the matchmaking meeting for smart city projects. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to have face-to-face negotiation with visitors for cooperation. The exhibition has self-evident effect.

The 5-day 20th CHTF China Smart City Expo attracted about 380,000 visits.
